Jiangsu Overview
- The gross domestic product (GDP) of Jiangsu in 2020 is 10.27 trillion RMB, a historic breakthrough of 10 trillion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
- High-tech industries account for nearly half: the output value of strategic emerging industries and high-tech industries accounted for 37.8% and 46.5% of the manufacturing industry, respectively
- Continuous enhancement of innovation capability: The R&D investment intensity of industrial enterprises above the designated size has reached about 2%, which has doubled from the end of the last five-year plan
- The manufacturing industry actively responds to China’s dual carbon policy: the revenue share of high-energy-consuming industries has dropped from 31.6% to 28.6%, exceeding the energy conservation and emission reduction tasks assigned by the state
